Hi Dar-listers!
Dar performed as part of the Progressive Magazine fundraiser and 100th year celebration in Madison, WI last week. I have a good friend who lives out in Madison, and thought it would be a great excuse to go out and visit. The line-up included: Ani DiFranco, the Indigo Girls, Dar, Catie Curtis, Melissa Ferrick, Peter Mulvey, and Hammell on Trial.
The night started out with Peter Mulvey doing one song (he was the MC as well), then Catie did a short set, and Melissa ended the first part of the show. Dar came out before Melissa's set was over and sang "I'm sticking to the union" with her and Catie.
Amy Goodman spoke at the beginning of the second half of the show. Peter Mulvey introduced Dar, who did a short set.

Then it was the Indigo Girls and Ani DiFranco. At the end of Ani's set, she, the IG, Dar, Catie, Melissa, Hamell on Trial, and Peter Mulvey all sang "Which side are you on," and old labor song (with Ani's spin on it). They all closed with "Closer to Fine." In the middle of the song, Dar and Melissa came to the end of the stage and lifted a young girl up onto the stage (she had been on her mother's shoulders cheering the whole show), to finish singing the song.
Not only was this concert for a great cause, but it was incredible to see all of those people on stage at the same time.
Best,
Marika Z.
