Dar did do this, a while back- though it was more or less unofficial
if I'm not mistaken. A bunch of talented dar-fans recorded "The Madmen
Poets: A Tribute to Dar Williams". I still have my copy!

There was a restaurant whose radio ads said "Come for the food, stay
for the pie."
Does anyone stay around for the stuff from the merchandise booth? Are
there any different goodies these days besides t-shirts and CDs? I
went to a show featuring Laura Veirs and there were some CDs that were
not available in the stores, including unreleased tracks on the CDs.
There was even one CD featuring covers of her music done by listeners.
And for only $6 each- even when not that many copies are being
pressed, the price seems reasonable. Would Dar do something like this-
have a CD of listeners' covers?
