[dar-list] The Next Dar?

In thinking about this, you're right-it's an unfair question. Dar Williams certainly can be an influence to newer musicians, but (like Bob Dylan) labeling artists as imitations of her is (at best) inaccurate.
Yet I now have a list of 8 musicians who I have never heard of and can check out based on your recommendations. I am truly thankful for that!
Also, for anyone who plans to attend the Philly Folk Fest, they just released the preliminary line up. My must-see of the current list is Steve Earle.

Excuse me, but I have a whole lot of new music to go listen to. Thanks again everyone!

although I'm not sure I agree with the question--after all, I don't really want or need another Dar--I would recommend Deb Talan (she has been mentioned as half of The Weepies) and Meg Hutchinson as other singers that Dar-lovers might appreciate. Totally agree with the previously mentioned Kris Delmhorst.
Brilliant.
