Jim raises an interesting question...... Who is the next Dar Williams?
 when i listen or Dar and I probably have heard the most live concerts
and i have finally settled that Dar has the writing chops of Joni
Mitchell  ( as well as some of her high notes), the vocal equal of
Judy Collins ( Dar herself will tell you that Sandy Denny and Judy
were strong influences -actually there is one more woman who is
deceased that Dar emulates- i keep forgetting but not freezing) and
the love of humanity of Joan Baez. Dar's love of the Hudson and Hudson
Valley are pure Pete Seeger so its obvious Dar is the heir apparent to
those generational songwriters and song stylists.

I go to Falcon Ridge and hear many young women who play guitar like
Ani Difranco. It is obvious that they found folk music through Ani and
now some whose songs sound like a Dar Williams song......

of all the artists  i hear,  Sorry jim...... I am still waiting for
the next Dar williams....

Sorry..... I wont be in Noho....... school ends at 3 and i have
tickets to the African Skies part of the Paul Simon 3 part residency
at Brooklyn Academy of Music...
