[dar-list] Dar in unexpected places

I don't think this has been mentioned on the dar list yet...

Anyone who knows me for more than 10 minutes will know how much I love
whales. By extension, I tend to gravitate to books and movies that have to
do with whales and dolphins. I just rented a DVD called "Eye of the
Dolphin". It's about a girl, about 14, who has lost her mother and is
suddenly introduced to the father she never knew. He is a dolphin
researcher living in the Bahamas. Lots of drama around being a teen, being
heard, adapting to changes, etc. All against the backdrop of dolphins and
how they communicate. It's a good film. Typically, I turn off the DVD once
credits roll but I didn't this time. After a minute, I hear a guitar intro
and think, "I know this song." It was the first verse of "The One Who
Knows". I didn't hear any other of Dar's music in the film (pretty much all
instrumental background music) so this was quite a pleasant surprise.

I have to return this rental but I'll be adding this to my DVD collection
soon!

Anyone else going to the Tupelo show on the 16th? (I can't make it to the
Noho sadly, so seeing Dar in a smaller room will have to make up for that
*grin*)
