[dar-list] SOTW: The One Who Knows

Hey list,

A few months ago SOTW got mentioned and I wrote that I had some songs in mind
for that. Now I'm finally posting the first, but don't expect me to post a new
song weekly. I hope other people will join in, otherwise it will probably
become SOTM...I don't know all the songs that have been SOTW in the past, but
there are probably new fans who have things to say about songs, like me. Of
course, I do hope longtime (middle aged) Dar fans will write too...

Let me start with one that has a meaning not directly related to me, but a
song I like a lot "The One Who Knows". This song doesn't relate to my life
situation, because I don't have kids and I don't feel like getting kids ever,
but I do love this song. But actually, Dar wrote this song before she got a
kiddo and I read somewhere that Dar had said it was written to honor people
raising her...
This song is able to capture my emotions over and over. Many Dar songs are
dear to me and some have a specific meaning to me. When I hear the line "But I
won't make it harder, I'll be there to cheer you on, I'll shine the light that
guides you down the road you're walking on", it almost feels like this song
brings them all together. Dar's music cheers me on all the time and it shines
upon my life journey...Through her music, I think Dar shows how life became a
miracle to her. So this is such a lovely song that brings in all those
feelings, feelings for which Dar's music is important to me...It does also
remind me of what I feel has not been taught to me..."I want to teach your
heart to trust, as I will teach my own"...
