" Weirdly, there seem to be a lot of middle
age dudes in the audience (I don't know why I noticed that but there it
is). So nothing spectacular or overwhelming but a nice, solid Dar
performance and a decent stopgap measure for those who haven't been or
won't be able to get to a concert in while. My cat Bello was enraptured
by the Ocean, he just sat there watching it with rapt attention and
when it was over he was done . . . It is also nice to have a few new
things to listen to. (You can pre-order it for US$14.95 from
MusicSpace.com
Hope to see some of your dar-lings again soon,
Oh Canada Gail"
Gail,
I'm not surprised- maybe because I'm a middle aged dude, though. I've always
seen many people like me at all the Dar shows I've gone to. Are you
referring to the fact that there are middle aged dudes at the show or that
they get a bit of face time in the video? I imagine many of those middle
aged dudes were there with their middle aged dudettes like I am usually. :-)
I didn't start out as a middle aged dude fan of Dar, though. I saw her live
for the first time in 1994 but had heard her music for awhile before that on
WXPN in Philadelphia. I just saw her in Phoenixville this month for about
the 30th time. Haven't had a bad show yet- although my wife and I tend to
prefer the shows where it's just one woman with a guitar over the full band
shows. It might just be because that's the way we saw her first, though.
I'll have to get my hands on the DVD. I wanted to get to the Bearsville show
but it just wasn't a good weekend for me to travel.
Dennis
