In my humble opinion, the two out-of-print albums are perfectly suited
for Dar fans who adore "The Honesty Room"/"Mortal City" and want
additional songs in that same vein.
It's a very candid look at Dar's early song experimentations as she
struggled to find her way as an artist. There's a brush with country
("Charlie Fry"), a slice of life at Wesylan College ("Terrarium"), and a
smattering of protest songs ("All My Heroes Are Dead" being one).
BTW, I have a taped concert from around this time period at Brandeis
College, and though the sound quality is a bit dodgy it has much of the
same material. My favorite part is when Dar busts out laughing during a
song because a friend in the audience has a rubber band around his head.
He won't take it off and she has to reperform the first verse at warp
speed, trying to keep her composure.
