My wife and I, too, struggled with fertility issues...and after 3-4 years were blessed with a son (7 months ago). This song holds a lot of meaning to us...

When this song came out I was pregnant and losing my mother to cancer.
So I felt it reflected the love my mom had always given me and at the
same time reflected the love I felt for my son.

My son really was my dream come true. I had dealt with about three
years of fertility treatments. So when I was finally blessed with a
child I couldn't believe what a miracle it was. And I feel like if I
could, I'd give my son the world.

This song seems to perfectly cover all the parts of being a parent so
simply. The part where you watch your child struggle and you are there
to support them and guide them down the right path is so beautifully
stated.

And then she comes to the part where the child has moved on from the
mom's home into his own. And how you really do look back and say how it
all went by too fast.

And really, all we want is for our children to be happy and truly know
what it feels like to be loved.
