[dar-list] Cheryl Wheeler-my 2 cents

Rory Block is excellent and should be higher up on the chain. My biggest
grip with CW is that I have seen her 3 times. Each time she spent more time
telling a stories than singing/ The last show I went to she was on stage for
one hour 25 minutes and played 7 songs. The rest of the time she was telling
the story of the song.

She may be a New England treasure but not a top 25

Too bad she's not. I think she's rather underestimated
and not nearly as well known as she should be,
considering her influence over the years.

On the other hand, lack of being known meant I got to
see Rory Block play at a teensy tiny venue here in
England last week. It's not so good for her bank
account, but it was good for her few fans in this part
of the world.

Ellen, who's been listening to Folk Alley most of the day.
