Sharon,

That's what I get for not reading what you posted carefully. Looks like the
show will be televised on ABC but still no Dar.

I still listen mostly to WXPN which used to have a very singer-songwriter
folkie oriented playlist. It has morphed a bit over the past few years- some
good, some bad. The age of the listener is split between 20's-30's and 40'-
60's so you're just not going to like everything they play.

They do play a bit too much sometimes of the top 10 of classic rock but
that's what the listeners seem to want mixed in with the new music.

I'm guessing you might be referring to WFUV 90.7 out of NY's Fordham
University. I like to listen to Pete fornatale's Mixed Bag show sometimes-
he had Poco on live 2 weeks ago. he's been a big supporter of theirs since
the beginning.

Murph
i agree that WUMB as more a folk oriented listener and they play more
folk music and young unsigned singer songwriters. Being out of the
Boston Area, there are many artists who hit their radar and get air
play than in larger metro areas.

Personally, id rather listen to WUMB than the Classic Rock that my
local college AAA station is playing. Their top 10 is Bruce, Bruce,
Tom Petty, Bruce, Van Morrison, Dylan, Rolling Stones, Beatles,
Rollling Stones....

Too bad that AAA has been clearchannelled into submission and even the
indie artists are prescribed....

what has happened to FOLK RADIO....... its not folk..

Dar will not be at ROCKERFELLER center but the tree lighting at
Lincoln Center which is a newer event and not televised...... sorry
Dennis....

I went last year for the first event and plan to get there for this one
too...
