I know that umb membership is made up of a lot of folkies, but this list is
a joke. Cheryl Wheeler doesn't belong in a folk top 50 let alone what this
poll asked for

I'd say it says they've been listening to Dylan for a long time and feel his
poetry and sound fits into the mix of the station very well. I am a bit
surprised that he took the top spot , though. Definitely a top 10-20 spot if
I was asked before the votes were in. I looked at the lists from previous
years and he has come in #1 3 times (including this year) and the lowest
(highest ) he's come in as an artist is #6. The first three years were for
the top 100 albums and he came in #5 for blood On the tracks in 1998, #3 for
Blood On the Tracks in 1999 and #7 for Highway 61 Revisited in 2000.

I did a search through the top 120 and found that I have albums by 81 of the
artists listed there. I'd say that about 2/3 of their top 20 would be in my
top 30.

There are some interesting choices in this list- it does include a number of
the top so called "classic Rock" artists from the 60's as well. I think the
top quality artists of that genre are represented here because their music
permeated many genre's over the years including as a major influence on many
of the other artists listed

I'm hoping the tree lighting ceremony is going to be broadcast on the local
NBC station again this year.

I was at Lincoln Center last night and there are posters for the
Holiday Tree lighting event featuring Dar Williams....

Her face is also on a huge poster on the 7th Ave side of Carnegie
Hall..... not bad for a Kid from Chappaqua NY...

Remember to have a little light in your days this holiday season.....
You dont have to Go....
