Sharon,
I hope Dar's crowd was not successful in sending any of the rain to Allentown. I was in Allentown the night before at their annual arts festival, sitting in the rain watching Shawn Colvin under the stars (more like the clouds). Those poor people in Allentown didn't need another evening of rain to spoil their festival - especially with handsome Billy Currington performing on Sunday.

Dar'a annual KOP show is always one that is the most looked forward to
of the year. You never know what the elements will bring.... one year,
she got invaded by frogs, one year it was geese, one year her merch
staff had a horrible car accident and never showed up but the merch
did... this year was no different....mother nature decided to crash
dar's party... she has been there before bringing rain but this year
she decided to applaud with lightning.
The skies grew dark as Lauren Hart began finishing her opening set and
second encore... a short break and there was a delay in starting
Dar.... The skies looked omnious and the threat of rain was
there....but there was no rain, the sky looked lighter... so dar began
Before the show, a 4 year old drew Dar beautiful pictures and asked
her to sing IOWA so Dar did.... She asked us not to light our
lighters, not to use our objects of connectivity but rather to stand
and to sway the rain and thunder towards Allentown.... it was amazing
that the crowd did it..
More amazingly, Dar described mother nature as the woman from the
margarine commerical growing up with flowers in her hair and a long
flowing dress.... she called upon mother nature to keep the weather
away and at one point lost her place because her narcissism got in the
way and she started to believe she changed the weather...
she threatened us with a few chords of Beauty of the Rain but the
crowd shot her down...just kidding she said
Dar played the Babysitter, teen for G-d, Blue light of the flame, As
cool as i am, the easy way, the Blessings with a dedication for Amy
and her graduation and move to Pittsburgh, Allulia, Christians and
Pagans for the usual dancing crowd.... she even called for Stephen to
join in but he was too far back.....
Before she played Mercy of the Fallen the show was called for
weather...it was a short but hysterical Dar show... complete with the
threat of weather and will go down as one of the classic KOP dar shows
I saw Pat, Candy, Janet, Joanne, Amy, Chris, Rebecca ..Brian and
thanks to his nephew Will for carrying the merch to the rec center...

And the blessings were like poets that we never find time to know,
But when time stopped I found the place where the poets go.
And they said, "Here have some coffee, it's straight, black and very old,"
And they gave me sticks and rocks and stars and all that I could hold,
sage advisor, does weary mean wiser
