Hi All,
So it's only the middle of June, but the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival is
just around the corner, so I wanted to get a sense of who would be
coming this year and interested in Camping at Camp Dar, as I will be
heading up that Wednesday to secure space. I'm hoping that we will be
around where we were last year, as it was not too badly impacted by
the torrential rains.
Anyway, for those of you who haven't been to Falcon Ridge, you should
go! It's a great festival with amazing music, dancing, and "camping"
on a beautiful farm at the base of the Berkshires.
For those curious about camping with Camp Dar, we are a friendly bunch
of folks who won't bite unless asked to. There is an informal and
relaxed song circle where you have the opportunity to perform, sing
along or just watch that can sometimes go well into the night
(especially if there is Strawberry wine being passed around). But
you can set up your tent away from the song circle so you can sleep at
night. It's just a fun and wonderful time.
As I said before, my goal is to camp around the same spot we were at
last year, which is the Lower Ledge camping. Assuming they don't
change the setup, this is the field that is past the second treeline
as you're going stage left from the mainstage. I will most likely
post a map again on the FRFF bulletin board to give a sense of where
we are located.
Anyway, if you're interested in camping at Camp Dar, post on the list
or e-mail me off list at chris at chris-chin.net . Let me know how many
people, how many tents (approximate size if known), and how many
vehicles will be in your party. Hope to see you there this year, as it
is a Dar year!
Peace,
-Chris

And they said, "Here have some coffee, it's straight, black and very old,"
And they gave me sticks and rocks and stars and all that I could hold,
