Before i post about new year eve, id like to comment on the Dar List
Archives. I think that the layout of the archives through Stax was a
benefit for the Darlist. There are lots of people who dont s*bscribe
to the Darlist but read the list through the archives. they read
whatever they want and skip other entries.. After Dennis's post came
through on the digest, i went to the link and the archived posting are
hard to read and locate. THerefore, i dont think people will do the
work necessary to locate the postings... i think that when its hard,
people wont do it and may miss valuable information.... without the
archives, then i think that the Dar list will be missing an important
component and i would hope that TOM gets the Stax function up and
running again shortly....

I was in noho on sunday.... i got to town and didnt participate in all
of the First Night events.. i got caught up in visiting that i didnt
get to see Katryna and Nerissa Nields do their chlidrens show... I did
get to see the fireworks at 615 and got some dinner and went over the
calvin for hte Dar show...

I saw Trish, Gerry, Norman and Amy and ofcourse Patty.. who was
pitching EMpire Teeshirts so if you need one... get to
Bulletproofartists.com ASAP....

Kris Delmhorst was a delight... i havent seen Kris for ages and missed
her voice and her skillful songwriting... Her last project was Strange
Conversation where she added music to dead poets material.... she also
has been on tour with Richard Thompson... and played his simple
plan....

Dar came out in black pants and a shirt with a new hairdo... she
called it her 2007 hairdo..
it looked different than i saw last month...
Norman gave us the setlist

hightlights for me were......

You're aging well..... ( i do have a birthday in two weeks so it
always starts here dont it)
mercy of the fallen
beauty of the rain ( i was sick of it til Dar took a BOTR break and i
am glad it was back)
Empire - thanks patty
Christians and Pagans complete with the long intro about amber and
jane and their uncle
babysitter with a new intro and new laughs.... new crowd
After all - there was no gasping girls when this song started....
teen for G-d
CAlling the Moon

Dar was very connected to her years in NOHO and where she lived... she
was very funny when the crowd didnt recognize her talking of Hogwart
pillows...and accused them of not knowing their herbs in the Valley...
so much her early music was written in the valley, its always a
coming home for dar....

Dar left for her encore and she took a while.. i was scratching my
head... then she reentered the stage in a red velvet spagetti strap
dress... like the one from the BOTR photo shoot... she asked for her
acoutrament.....twice and got her son in his PJs that matched her
dress...

Master Robinson sang Bah Bah Black sheep or his mom did.....nose to
nose with him
(there clearly is a maternal Dar who shows her love for her kid freely)
and then Stephen choose to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star... and
then his dad came to get him and bowed with him...

then his mom, went on to sing February and When i was a boy...

it was a great way to spend New Years Eve and welcome it with the
music around her.

I actually snuck out of town before hte ball rose or dropped and while
i was on RT 90 or the mass pike, i caught fireworks in my rear view
mirror from springfield and watched them as i headed down the
highway....

Happy New year to all

And the blessings were like poets that we never find time to know,
But when time stopped I found the place where the poets go.
And they said, "Here have some coffee, it's straight, black and very old,"
And they gave me sticks and rocks and stars and all that I could hold,
