"Dennis,

glad you got to see Susan last night. I planned on going, but alas the 9
hour shifts and 6 pager papers due on Monday rule my life.

We all have our own opinions, but I have a hard time with those that cant
stick through the whole show. I've probably seen Susan 5 or 6 times on the
Gospel Truth tour, and every show you get a few walkouts. If only they stuck

around for the message found in "Together".

Say what you will, but I think Susan Werner's "The Gospel Truth" is the
best
compilation of songs ever gathered. No project has changed my life more
than
her latest effort. I owe her my life and my sanity. PLEASE, do yourself and

buy a copy of the new CD. Sit through the entire thing, please please
please.
Don't give up hope. Live your life with open minds.

"P.S.- Dennis, what did Susan say about Huckabee?"

Vincent,

Last things first. She mentioned Huckabee several times- including saying
that he might play bass on one song where they could probably agree for 3:30
. I forget which specific song that might be. It might have been together ,
actually.

She mentioned that it really bothered her that he might actually win in her
home state of Iowa. She is definitely not a supporter of huccabee.

She mentioned the Ark & the dinosaurs several times in her show. alluding to
the fact that the dinosaurs are one of the big flaws in the literal belief
in creationism having g been done in about 5000 years. In an aside- the
latest todo on the view with sherry shepherd pops into my head- she
maintains that Jesus predates everything including the Greeks, etc. She also
seems to believe that the world might actually be flat.

She also mentioned a comment her mother made about the Ark story and it's
validity- her mother mentioned that there would have been a big problem with
all the animal manure produced (Susan is a Iowa farm girl at heart and her
parents are good Catholic Iowa farmers). this comment got a large laugh from
the audience. Susan even asked if she had lost anybody in the audience and
there were no takers on that.

We were sitting in the fifth row and I saw nobody leave the show. The
audience at the shows at the Concerts At The Crossings are probably pretty
open minded and liberal in nature. The shows take place in a
Unitarian-Universalist Church as well..

I know Esther was not comfortably with some of the sentiments addressed by
Susan as Esther is very involved in her church and has strong beliefs of her
own. she was actually more offended by the opener who found it was needed to
use the word f*** several times in a tune.

I personally enjoyed the show and don't have a problem with most of what
Susan has to say. I think she has some very valid points- I guess it's just
a bit hard to hear them out loud at times.

In closing Vincent I'm not surprised to see you respond to this - and in a
positive manner as I saw your post in the Forum part of Susan's website. I
also thought while at the show last night that it was possible that you
would show up as I vaguely remembered you mentioning Susan after my post
last year about the show she and Dar were involved in.

I should have bought the disc last night but I did order it this morning
online.

Dennis
