The lyrics pretty much speak for itself, so here's a little of my thoughts
when I hear The Easy Way. The first time I heard this song was through WNUR.
It's also the only source I have it from, but okay. At first I thought, crap I
wish I could say that I never took the easy way. I liked the song, but for me
there's not so much to relate to, like I can with many other songs. Well, the
great thing of Dar singing, for me, is that I start to think about it,
sometimes just about parts of a song. The easy way, as I thought of it, would
be going with the flow, following like a lemming towards disaster, no matter
what. I don't see myself as someone doing that, it just feels like it
sometimes and that are not the best times, because "easy is never easy
anyhow". You see the edge clear in sight and think; look I should turn now,
why is no one following, don't you see? "So we hold each other up to the
higher standard", but "when you're hard just to be hard the only thing that's
hard is you". "So here's what I took..." and I fill it in with whatever I
think is right...
Well, that's it...Anyone else willing to share some thoughts? If you've never
heard this song you can download a podcast from WNUR and hear Dar perform it
live on radio: http://www.wnur.org/folk/categories/podcasts/.
Thanks to all that have posted about FRFF. It sounds like a magical place and
it's always lots of fun to read about...
