last week inbetween Dar shows, i snuck off to the theater to see the
documentary US vs John Lennon. It actually is a good documentary... it
starts with Lennon's early history and how the media used his words or
phrases, as a member of the Beatles. This documentary targets
Revolution (the song) and his marriage to Yoko Ono was critical
events... lennon understood his voice and how much power he could
have. It was after he met Yoko Ono that he was able to find his voice.
THe movie depicts that Yoko opened up his playful side and was an
important person in the development of John Lennon.

John Lennon knowing that he and Yoko could not have a honeymoon away
from the press so he took the press with him to amsterdam...for the
first BED IN.. he and yoko took their Performance Art piece of the BEd
in to montreal. The press didnt know what to think of Yoko and John.
The rest of movies depicts -John's political voice.....Yoko Ono
ofcourse is interviewed throughout the movie.

There are other dignitaries interviewed both from the Nixon
Administration, gore vidal, carl bernstein all interviewed about the
Nixon Adminstration's reasons for wanting Lennon deported. The most
important thing was the the 18 year old vote was new, and the Nixon
Adminstation feared Lennon. Lennon had already been a voice for John
Sinclair and was hanging out with Bobby Seales and Jerry Rubin and
Abbie Hoffman, who were all more capable at political stances than
lennon. Lennon was used by them....
and it was based on a trumped up Charge that Nixon began deportation
hearings. The lawyer who represented John was also interviewed...

I have to say it was an interesting and absorbing documentary that VH1
will show as part of the roc Doc series...

It restores Yoko Ono to her rightful place in pop star history...
