 I had tickets for the showcase of the next Shawn Colvin cd, There
four walls at Joes Pub. Its a small listening room with food and drink
located in the public theater. Generally very
soho chic. Because of the type of event, size of the room etc, the GA
tickets were standing room. Thanks to a friend i got an email that
entitled me to a reserved table for my party. This table ended up
being front and center and almost under Shawn;s nose. We looked up at
Shawn and telecasters, John Leventhal, Shawn Pelton,
Zev Katz and Catherine Russell on vocals. Shawn opened with the Paul
Westerberg Cover
of Even Here we are. she was solo acoustic

Shawn was dressed in a grey Balloon skirt jumper with a grey knit long
sleeve top and grey tights and shoes. She looked great. The only thing
better than how she looked was how she played and sang.

John and Shawn took the stage alone (the lighting was great)
shotgun down the avalanche

Shawn then had more time and was relaxed
she told 2 stories and breathed

DYLAN never used a tuner in Washington Sq Park

the crowd was quiet so you hear a pin drop

Shawn is starting a national tour....Do not miss this one.
.... i recommend that
you see her when she comes to her town... She will be with Buddy
Miller on guitars.. that alone is worth the price of the ticket

im putting on a summer dress, one i like the best, one ripped at the
chest and going out into the wilderness.....

then i am off to the dedication of the Katherine Hepburn Women's
center at Bryn Mawr with
Dar. then i have to come home and teach at 9am and then i am off to
Bethlehem to a free Dar show at Lehigh University

i cant even start to dissect the Bryn Mawr Bryn Mawr Bryn Mawr show....
i can tell you that there were two 45 minutes, a Q&A with Dar in between each
and lots of Cheering, then there was this little excitement over "as
cool as i am "
can someone fill the Dar list in on THE BRYN MAWR
may Day celebrations and why they chose AS COOL AS I AM as an anthem
i saw something last night that i had never seen at a dar concert

i saw many things i had never seen before, guitars that went haywire, chanting,
dancing like i was at a pagan prayer service and most of all.... i saw Dar....
ive seen her before....

the dedication of the Hepburn Houghton womens center will go fine....
Dar's guitar will sound fine
the Lost Baez guitar will be recovered
and Dar will be in lehigh later today
so will i
