I have heard Jessica Simpson sing "let him fly" with an acoustic
accompaniment. She sings it like she is imitating Patty Griffin. I
didnt find it offensive. If the issue is a "pop singer" covered one of
your favorites then thats the issues. If it was Kasey Chambers or
Lucinda Williams covering Patty would we have the same response. What
if it was Tony Bennett or Barbara Streisand. Bette Midler has already
done it
I recently Heard Buckets of Rain, the duet with Bette and Dylan which
i heard in the 70s and thought was Nasty..... i heard it last week...
and it aint Nasty just Lousy. but as i grew into my Dylan ears, i
think i will check it out again.
i wish Patty Lots of love and luck and $$$ with the Jessica Simpson
cover and Patty more exposure....
it only strengthens the singer songwriter genre....

pop on jessica, you have good taste in songs....
and in men from what it looks like.....
