Oh, I love the cartoon...I want to see it now....yes, I succumbed to shaving
many years ago, though I was very hairy for most of a decade. But I won't make
myself too much of a little girl....and that is what my thought on shaving is:
an attempt to keep us little girls. Smooth legs feel good in a dress however,
but the scratchy regrowth is a mess. Well....can we get on with things and get
out of this conservative climate? Can we just shift...like take a big lurch
and quit our dependence on oil? How amazing would that be? Would the war just
fizzle? Imagine if our government actually financed all of our alternative
energy ideas and research....and we got on with it! Wow! And what if we got
over being selfish and greedy and small minded...said we were tired of it? And
what if we learned to talk and communicate with each other on a deep level,
and found ways to reveal our inner selves and honored ourselves for allowing
ourselves to be vulnerable? What if family values meant that we put people
first in their wholeness? We could just revel in all that is right here for
us. Well....every little step we take helps. But, I am so over this limited
thinking....and so over listening to politicians rationalize murder in the
insatiable quest for power and riches, and disguise hatred in the name of
protecting hte sanctity of marriage. Our voting process is getting trickier
and trickier from my point of view in California. Gotta take the time to
actually read these propositions, because there's no straightforward
information that's easily available. Who is who and what's really what? That
is the question these days, and we don't always know. And Dar is right about
the T.V......but it's so much fun sometimes. Remember 1984? It's the camera
into our bedrooms...the mind control device. Orwell was right, but 1984 was a
while ago.....and there's still hope. So I'll try to turn off the t.v. a
little bit more, and stay connected to my fellow humans, and keep on doing
kind deeds, and looking for the good surprise each day. It's all there. War is
over if you want it. Remember?

"In short, if newspapers were written by people whose sole object in writing
was to tell the truth about politics and the truth about art we should not
believe in war, and we should believe in art." ~ Virginia Woolf in The Three
Guineas
