Dar was running on little sleep from the night before and so was i. I
notice right away that she had a cold and her guitar sounded
wonky...but that didnt stop her from putting in one of the finest
shows ive seen...

this was a small presbyterian church in central NJ. the person who
runs the series buys fair trade coffee and roasts his own and sells
it. He takes a percentage of the proceeds and donates them to a CBO or
as in saturday, a person who suffered a series and disabling accident.
The Christopher Reeve Foundation was also involved in the event...

The opening act played 5 songs and then Dar took the stage ( no Break)

she looked at the stage behind her and there where two Xmas trees and
a huge Cross or cruxifix hanging on the wall...She acknowledged the
Chrisian and Pagan ornamentation and threw some jewish reference in to
keep the balance and talked about a judeo Christian evening we were
about to have.

I need to explain that i was out near westfield a few months ago and
my friend Susan Krauss from Almeda california was in. We went to see
the Roches and her mom is a huge music fan, lives in Westfield and
cant get out without assistance... so Chris Chin and i Became her
assistants for the evening.. We picked her up, went to
dinner....rockin Italian food and went to the show... and then took
mrs krauss home... She had never seen Dar before and i think it was
love at first sight....Another new Dar fan in the making..
Mrs Krauss, listens to FUV so she was familar with Dar songs but her
favorite and most well know was "you're aging well" but really only
knew the Joan Baez version....
Mrs Krauss turned 75 the day after i saw them in the fall.....75 is a
reason to celebrate and to hear Youre Aging Well....

Set 1
Teen for God
If I Wrote You
Calling the Moon
You Rise and Meet the Day
The Hudson
Are You Out There
The One Who Knows

Set 2
Road Buddy
Babysitter
The Ocean
The Christians and the Pagans
You're Aging Well (Request for mrs krauss)
After All
Mercy of the Fallen
When I Was A Boy

Encore: February

So Dar took the Ocean as a request, and started the Dar bounce as she
played guitar...as the ocean got angrier, Dar bounced more....she
started rocking and suddenly one of the Christmas trees fell
over.....we were all startled, there were helpers who ran on stage,
Dar started picking up bulbs and decided to do this little Dance
dangling htem, like a jig or like something a 7 year old would do...
Dar placed the bulbs off to the side.... and told us she didnt put
them in the HOLY Water basin...the sprite Dar was out in force....

she then announced she finished the OCEAN....

Dar had a cold but was in great voice... she hit every high note...and
her wonky guitar on the lower ranged werent out of tune... just out of
mix....it was a great show...

and happy Xmas to you all
Happy Hanukah
Kwaanza
and ofcourse..... lets celebrate the shortest day of the year..... solstice...
